HIGHLANDERS’ midfielder, Divine Mhindirira, has emphasised the importance of teamwork as they search for a top four finish.
Bosso are coming from a come-from-behind 2-1 win over CAPS United in Bulawayo on Sunday.
The win broke Makepekepe’s seven-game unbeaten run in the league.
The Bulawayo giants take on unpredictable Yadah FC in a Castle Lager Premiership match at the National Sports Stadium today.
Bosso showed character to bounce back from a first half deficit and beat Makepekepe.
CAPS took the lead through William Manondo, who should be one of the favourites, for the Soccer Star of the Year award.
Bosso scored through Mhindirira and Washington Navaya.
Mhindirira was named man-of-the-match.
“It always feels great to score in front of our fans,” he told H-Metro.
“The feeling is just ecstatic.
“But, credit should always go to my teammates.
“We play as a team and without them I wouldn’t have scored.”
He added:
“The match was a difficult one, we had to fight back from behind.
“It’s good that, when we were down, we fought as a team.
“The collective effort helped us level matters before we took the lead.
“Fortunately, we managed to safeguard our lead to the final whistle.
“It’s easy to get carried away in a match and you end up giving away the lead but, as a team, we managed to safeguard our lead.
“We don’t need to put ourselves under much pressure but we should play our normal game and express ourselves with the ball.
“A top four finish will be good for us.”
He said Bosso were not an ordinary football club.
“Highlanders is a special club with a lot of passionate fans. “This sets expectations high for the team and players.
“That alone comes with its own pressure but, as players, we always encourage one another to just play to the best of our ability for the fans, as they deserve that from us,” he said.
