A BEAUTY of a strike from Gillian Nyathi, with the last kick of the game, and a Lynoth Chikuhwa first half goal helped Highlanders end their four-game winless run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League at Barbourfields.

Bosso could have won by an even bigger scoreline had they not been poor in front of goal, particularly in the first half.

Bosso broke the deadlock four minutes before the break through striker Chikuhwa who netted home his 11th goal of the season.

Never Rauzhi made a brilliant run on the right before setting up McKinnon Mushore inside the box.

Mushore fired and found the woodwork before Chikuhwa slotted home with ease.

Substitute Nyathi got Bosso’s insurance goal with a beautiful curler from distance.

Ironically, his introduction by coach Kelvin Kaindu in the 84th minute had been met by jeers as he replaced Honest Mhlanga, who had also come on as a substitute for Melikhaya Ncube, in the 57th minute.

“We haven’t won for some time but we don’t want to get carried away, we have a game on Saturday,” said Kaindu.

“We have a few days to prepare, we have a number of players that are still out limping. In the first round we struggled against local teams but for us to get maximum points today, we had to work for the victory.

“We scored two goals although we had a number of chances we could have capitalised on and have a big scoreline.”

Arenel coach Philani ‘Beefy’ Ncube said:

“We let in goals they should not have scored and denied them those they should have scored. Our preparations were something else, If l tell you right now it’s a sad story.

“We are not going to be relegated like some of you may think.

“It doesn’t paint a good picture of us when we lose to a team that walked out of their match last week.”
