Bosso fans urged to throng BF

HIGHLANDERS’ acting chief executive officer Ronald Moyo has urged the club’s faithful to throng Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow for their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter with Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Bosso and Ngezi’s mid-week game was cancelled last week after referees were withdrawn, and Moyo believes that a weekend fixture and reduced gate charges should encourage their fans to come out in large numbers for the tie.

Only a handful of fans had paid to watch the cancelled match owing to hefty gate charges of US$10 for rest of ground, US$15 for the grandstand and US$20 for the VIP.

The PSL has since announced that fans with tickets for cancelled Matchday Two games can use the same tickets for this weekend’s rescheduled matches.

Gate charges have also been slashed to US$3 for rest of the ground, US$5 for the grandstand and US$10 for VIP.
Payment can be made in local currency at the prevailing inter-bank rate.

“We feel for the fans who had sacrificed their time and hard-earned money to come and watch the game.

We are sympathetic to their cause and would like to encourage them to come and use the tickets from last week. We didn’t start well, but we are confident this will be an interesting season and for it to be an interesting season, we need our fans,” said Moyo.

“The key pillar and key stakeholders at Highlanders are the fans. We are obviously happy that they are back and we saw the decision that was made by the PSL to revise gate charges.

“We are happy for the fans and the club because we know that this means on Sunday, we are playing in front of a huge crowd.

We have not been doing well without the fans. We hope they will boost the boys’ confidence and there is also a monetary reward that comes with it given that we are at home. We encourage the fans to come in their numbers,” he said. — @innocentskizoe
