Highlanders 0-0 Triangle
HIGHLANDERS’ fans left Barbourfields grumbling again as Bosso failed to find the back of the net, settling for a frustrating 0-0 draw against relegation-haunted Triangle United yesterday.
The result marked Bosso’s second goalless draw under caretaker coach Try Ncube, who is still trying to steady the ship following a turbulent start to his tenure. Ncube has now overseen five matches, managing just one win, two draws, and two defeats.
Despite dominating possession and creating a flurry of chances, Bosso simply could not convert pressure into goals.
“We created a lot but didn’t finish. With more composure, this could have been a different story,” lamented Ncube.
“We need determination and killer instinct. We have to score for ourselves. That’s the only way forward.”
His opposite number, Genesis Mangombe, breathed a sigh of relief after snatching a valuable point in hostile territory.
“We’re fighting relegation and facing Highlanders away is never easy,” said Mangombe. “But we held firm and walked away without conceding. That’s a big positive.”
The game may have lacked goals, but it wasn’t short on drama. Bosso’s frontline misfired throughout, and Triangle’s defenders threw bodies on the line to frustrate the Bulawayo giants.
Meanwhile, Week 2 PSL action dished out shocks and twists elsewhere:
• Dynamos 0-0 Manica Diamonds
• Bikita Minerals 0-1 Scottland
• Ngezi Platinum 1-0 CAPS United
• TelOne 2-0 Simba Bhora
• ZPC Kariba 1-1 MWOS
• FC Platinum 2-1 Kwekwe United
• Yadah 1-1 Greenfuel
• Herentals 1-0 Chicken Inn
With Bosso’s blunt attack again under scrutiny, the faithful will be hoping Try Ncube finds his scoring formula before the boo birds grow louder.
