Bosso identifies replacements for board member slots

SEVEN Highlanders life members have been identified as possible replacements for four board members who have either resigned or died in the past few years.

The identified members are all drawn from specialised skills areas and disciplines in line with Article 13 of the club’s constitution.

They will come in to replace former board chairman Mgcini Nkolomi, Thomas Ngwenya and Justice Nicholas Mathonsi, who all resigned citing various reasons as well as the late board vice-chairman Jonathan Sayi Moyo who died in 2018.

Sources said the seven include two former players Douglas ‘British’ Mloyi and Lawrence Phiri.

Other members are long time club lawyer Matshobana Ncube and Botswana-based lawyer Nkululeko Fuzwayo.

Former treasurer and chairman Themba Ndlela, whose tenure as club boss lured BancAbc as principal sponsors and another former chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, who steered the club during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic during which principal sponsors NetOne pulled out, as well as Lungile Moyo, son of the late club patron Taffi Moyo.

“As per article 13.3 of the Highlanders constitution, the two leadership arms of the club, the board and executive, will select the four who will then be presented to members for ratification at the club’s annual general meeting,” said the source.
