Bosso in Beitbridge for team building

HIGHLANDERS have set up base in Beitbridge, where they will undertake a week-long team-building exercise to make the most of the international break.

According to Bosso coach Kelvin Kaindu, the team-building exercise will also help integrate their new signings into the squad.

“We want to use this period for team bonding. We have players coming in who have not been registered, and we hope to use this international break to allow the team to bond. Essentially, what we are trying to do is bring the team together and work on our conditioning, as you know it was a bit difficult for us at the start of our pre-season. We need to use the next few days to ensure we get things right. From our first training session, the body language and the effort being put in by the players show that everyone wants to push and work,” said Kaindu.

Highlanders, like Chicken Inn, struggled with training venues at the start of the year, as municipal facilities were still closed to the public.

Bosso chief executive officer Brian Moyo, stated they are working from the administrative side to finalise deals for their new acquisitions.

“I think as a club, we are fairly satisfied with what we have achieved regarding the players who are supposed to be brought on board. We have done our part in securing agreements where required,” said Moyo.

Highlanders were unable to sign new players due to a Fifa ban following delays in settling payments to Baltermar Brito and his assistant, Antonio Joao Martins Leao Torres. The club had failed to pay the pair outstanding allowances from 2023 before parting ways with them at the end of that season.

Bosso are keeping the names of their new signings under wraps, but Zimpapers Sports Hub has reliable information that the players they are likely to sign include: Malvern Hativagoni from Bulawayo Chiefs, pacey striker Never Rauzhi, winger Tendai Muvuti from Hwange FC and midfielder Hubert Ncube from ZPC Hwange.

Former Chegutu Pirates striker Panashe Mushonga and 26-year-old Mbonisi Ncube, who has impressed during his stint with BDF XI in Botswana, will provide further options to the strike force. Additionally, 19-year-old left-back Luckmore Mutumbi, promoted from the club’s development squad, will bring fresh legs and enthusiasm to the defensive line.

Another exciting young talent joining Bosso is 19-year-old winger Mafious Junior Chiweta, who was outstanding for Ajax Hotspurs in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League.
