The match will be a curtain raiser to the Highlanders/Chicken Inn Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund match at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.
The Highlanders Legends, who pummelled Tsholotsho veterans 11-0 last Saturday, will see some of them making an emotional return to the ground that brought them fame and fortune.
“We are ready to square off with the City of Kings select and fans should brace themselves for an exciting encounter. We respect our opponents but don’t fear them,” said Adam Ndlovu yesterday.
Living legends like Douglas British Mloyi, Peter Ndlovu, Rahman Gumbo, Peter Nkomo, Tito Paketh, Willard Khumalo, will rekindle their rivalry with the likes of Agent Sawu, Ephraim “Rock of Gibraltar” Chawanda, Godfrey Paradza, among others.
Also turning out for the City of Kings select will be Ronald Sibanda, Chipo Tsodzo, Dazzy Kapenya, Nkosana Gumbo, Dick Ngwenya, Sikhumbuzo Banda, Aubrey Sauramba, Daniel Bingadadi and Tizirai Luphahla.
“I am appealing to the Bulawayo community to come and support a worthy cause. This is a way of giving back to the community that helped us scale dizzy heights,” said Sawu.
Those that will throng Emagumeni will also see Sizabantu Khoza, Bekithemba Ndlovu, Simon Sibanda, Alexander Phiri, Topi Kays, Amin Soma-Phiri, Melusi Mabaleka Sibanda and Thabani Masawi in full flight for Highlanders veterans.
The proceeds from the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund match will be donated to the less privileged in society.
