GOALS from Melikhaya Ncube and Brighton Ncube have put Highlanders in a commanding position at half time on their first game of the season at home.
Bosso broke the deadlock as early as the second minute through Melikhaya with their first attempt at goal.
The midfielder calmly headed home from a Brilliant Mason Mushore cross.
The home side, playing in front of a good crowed, continued to dominate play and possession, asking the right questions in the new boys’ half.
Highlanders were rewarded again in the 15th minute when striker Brighton was brought down inside the box after a brilliant run.
Up he stepped to take the responsibility and made no mistake from the spot, sending Kwekwe United’s goalkeeper, Elton Nechirwe the wrong way.
Brighton would complete his brace at the stroke of half time, placing home into the bottom right corner a McKinnon Mushore pass.
Prior to that, Kwekwe United were reduced to 10 men with Nechirwe given matching orders for handling the ball outside the penalty area to deny Reason Sibanda a goal scoring opportunity.
After a five minute delay, Bosso got a free-kick on the edge of the penalty area which Andrew Mbeba sent over the bar.
The visitors then made two changes with goalkeeper Lenon Gonese replacing Dennis Dauda while Simbarashe Musukutwa came in for Emmanuel Mutimbanyoka.
Bosso enjoyed most of the possession in the first half.
