Speeding BMW driver kills 6-year-old in road accident

HORROR unfolded on the Ngundu-Tanganda Road when a speeding driver from Chipinge, Manicaland Province, struck and killed a 6-year-old child who was trying to cross the road.

On 25 February 2025, Last Manjowe was crossing the road with other school children when a BMW X3 driven by Innocent Bvuma hit him.

According to the Zimbabwe Road Traffic Act, driving at high speed is considered a serious offense, and the law imposes stringent penalties on perpetrators.

In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said, “The accident was attributed to excessive speed and failure to keep a proper lookout.”

Bvuma was fined US$400, or 6 months in prison if he fails to pay.
