A BROTHER and sister duo from Zvishavane, Midlands were apprehended for masterminding a daring fake armed robbery at DA Motors Service Station.

But behind the facade, Biana secretly handed US$18 200 in cash and fuel coupons to her partner in crime her own brother Givemore Madzudzu (37).

A police investigation  exposed the robbery as a fabrication after Biana reported the incident.

In an official statement on X, the national Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “Police arrested the siblings and recovered US$12,258 in cash, fuel coupons, and other stolen items hidden in Kandodo and Zuderberg mountains.”

The duo each received a 36-month prison sentence, with 12 months waived contingent upon good behaviour and an additional 12 months waived provided they pay US$3 500 in restitution.
