HIGHLANDERS piled more misery on Chegutu Pirates with a victory powered by goals from Nqobile Ndlovu and Archieford Faira in the first half.
With the win, Bosso moves into fourth place.
With the news that their chairman Admore Chivero had thrown in the towel, Pirates would not have wanted to meet the Bulawayo giants at this time of turmoil.
They also knew they needed to win at all cost to avoid relegation.
Pirates made some attacks in the second half but found Reward Muza, in goals for Bosso, at his best as he thwarted all the raids.
On the stroke of full-time veteran Simbarashe Domingo pulled one back for Zaire but it was too little, too late.
Bosso coach, Kelvin Kaindu, was a happy man.
“I think it was a hard fought victory but am happy with the win and it gives us a slight advantage as we go into our next game, “ said Kaindu.
Godfrey Tamirepi, the Pirates assistant coach, blamed the loss to a bad start.
“Our bad start in the first twelve minutes cost us.”
