HIGHLANDERS players have gone on strike again over outstanding salaries, refusing to train as preparations for Sunday’s Chibuku Super Cup clash against Chicken Inn remain in limbo.
The latest industrial action is not the first salary-related strike to hit Bosso this season, underlining the recurring financial challenges that have continued to unsettle the club.
Highlanders leadership met on Thursday evening in a bid to find a solution to the impasse, with the players expected to be briefed on the way forward on Friday.
However, the players have refused to train during the course of the week, leaving coach Benjani Mwaruwari facing another disruption ahead of the crucial Bulawayo derby.
The club will now be hoping Thursday’s engagement produces a breakthrough and allows the players to return to training in time to prepare for a Chibuku Super Cup encounter that represents one of their remaining opportunities for silverware this season.
