HIGHLANDERS are on the hunt for a new CEO after the incumbent Ronald Moyo decided not to renew his contract.
The club yesterday announced that Moyo will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the month.
“The Highlanders Football Club’s executive committee takes this opportunity to convey to its members, supporters and all stakeholders that the club’s chief executive officer Mr Ronald Moyo has elected not to renew his contract at its expiration due on the 31st of March 2024,” said Bosso in a statement released yesterday.
Moyo served as Highlanders’ head of secretariat, taking over from Nhlanhla Dube in December 2021.
Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe said an advert for the vacant post will be published in the next few days.
“Firstly, we would like to thank Moyo for all his contributions to this great club. He served the club well and we would like to thank him for a job well done.
“We now have the task of searching for a replacement and we have started the process. We will be advising our members and the public on the steps forward,” said Mhlophe.
The club said his responsibilities included transforming it into a sustainable business and ensuring offices were equipped with appropriately skilled personnel.
Moyo initially joined the club as a media officer, and became the youngest CEO of a big football club in the country. He is also a former Bantu Rovers media officer.
Moyo leaves at a time when the club has just secured a deal with BetterBrands.
Under the deal, all the team’s expenses will be borne by the company and in a historic feat, junior development and the women’s team,
Highlanders Royals, will be paid by Betterbrands, which is keen to have a nationwide footprint, as it seeks to assist young people to better their lives. —@innocentskizoe
