Bosso take Platinum taste

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders will have to pull up their socks if they have any aspirations of leaving Mandava Stadium victorious when they face log leaders FC Platinum this weekend.

Victory over Ngezi Platinum elevated FC Platinum to the summit of the PSL standings at 41 points in an intriguing weekend.

While FC Platinum has all the confidence going into battle against Highlanders on Saturday, Highlanders will be looking forward to returning to winning ways after succumbing to a 1-0 shock defeat at the hands of giant slayers Bulawayo Chiefs.

The Bulawayo giants will have a torrid time in this encounter as odds are not in their favour.

FC Platinum are the favouritesA� withA� one loss this season courtesy of Bulawayo Chiefs compared to inconsistent Bosso which has one loss, two draws and two wins in the past five games.

Lack of forceful strikers will also not be a new disadvantage for Bosso this weekend as their forwards have seldom scored convincing goals in a game this season compared to FC Platinum which has been consistent.

While the Bosso and Platinum match will be a top of the table encounter, a similar battle will be happening at the bottom, when City council bankrolled sides, Mutare City and Bulawayo City battle it out on who will emerge number last at Barbourfields on Saturday.

Bulawayo City is seated at the bottom of the log at 11 points, while Mutare City just sits above Amakhosi also at 11 points, being separated by a goal difference.

In other matches newboys Herentals face Shabanie Mine at the National Sports Stadium while struggling Harare giants, Dynamos, face debutants Nichrut at Rufaro Stadium.

On Sunday, the Green Machine, Caps United will be looking forward to continue climbing up the log when they clash with Chapungu at Ascot whereas ZPC Kariba will travel to LuveveA� for a date with the giant slayers Bulawayo Chiefs.

Early pace setters Ngezi Platinum will be hoping to redeem themselves in a match against Black Rhinos while the Gamecocks date Triangle at their home ground at Gibbo.

Yadah FC faces Harare City in a derby at Rufaro.
