OBRIEL Chirinda and Nqobizitha Masuku have been linked to mid-season transfers to Bulawayo giants Highlanders.
Sources close to Chirinda confirmed that the star striker could make an emotional home return to play for his third Premier side in the City of Kings and Queens.
Previously he played for Bulawayo Chiefs before moving to Chicken Inn and a high-stakes transfer to Ngezi Platinum.
The hard-working striker is seen as a solution for the strikeforce.
Sought for comment, Highlanders acting chief executive officer, Kindman Ndlovu could not divulge any names on Monday morning for fear of jeopardising negotiations.
There also has been talk of a return to the club by Jwaneng Galaxy midfield enforcer Nqobizitha Masuku, who has gained international club experience by playing in the Caf Champions League for the Batswana side.
“For now I cannot disclose names of players we are targeting as this may jeopardise our efforts,” said Ndlovu.
Highlanders are keen to build a formidable side to stand the heat and go all the way to win the championship in their centennial year in 2026.
