BPA season to start in March

THE commencement of the 2016 Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) season has been set for 12 March following a clubsa�� chairmen meeting recently at Raylton Sports Club.

Speaking at the chairpersons meeting held on 20 February BPA Premier League fixtures secretary Robin Goremucheche announced that the league would start mid-March and the draw date for fixtures would be held on Saturday at Raylton Sports Club.

BPA publicity secretary Farai Nyandoro said clubs should pay part of their affiliation fees by end of day -Friday- for them to be considered for the draw.

a�?For the 2016 season, premier league teams are set to pay a total of US $375 as affiliation fees while division one teams are expected to each fork out US$300. The first instalment according to the payment structure is US$125 for Premier league clubs.A� Division One outfitsa�� first instalment is pegged at US$100,a�? said Nyandoro.

He said the second deadline payment date was 30 April with both Premier and Division One teams paying the same amounts as in their first respective instalments.

The third instalment whose deadline is 31 May will see clubs in the BPA elite league each pay $75 while those in the lower wrung will fork out $50.

Clubs will be expected to have fully paid up by 30 June with the last instalments of US$50 on both premier and division one leagues.

Meanwhile, newly appointed BPA chairman Tendai Charuka appointed John Mahachi as chairman of the referees while Christine Sengwe has assumed the role of chairperson in the disciplinary committee where she will work with Philani Mlotshwa and Rocker Mbuvah.

Madhlenkosi Makova is the new appeals committee officer where he will handle appeals cases with Charuka and any assigned executive member.
