BPPA cup fever grips province

THE countdown to the highly anticipated BPPA Cup Round of 32 has begun, with excitement building across the province ahead of the knockout clashes scheduled for next Sunday.

Tournament organisers confirmed matches will be staged at eight different venues, with each host expected to accommodate four teams in what promises to be a thrilling day of cue sport action.

“To qualify as a hosting venue, organisers said facilities must have at least two pool tables in good condition to ensure smooth proceedings throughout the competition,” said one of the tournament organisers Kuda Shoko

A hosting fee of US$20 has also been set as preparations gather momentum for one of the province’s biggest pool tournaments.

Several popular venues have already thrown their hats into the ring to host the prestigious event. These include Dragons, Fast Cash, Amajiyampondo, Ndazi, Mandlovu BG, Royal, Dropmark and Golden Pillars.

The BPPA Cup has continued to grow in stature, attracting strong competition from clubs and players eager to make their mark on the provincial stage. With knockout football-style pressure expected in every frame, fans can anticipate a tense and entertaining battle for supremacy.

Organisers have since urged more venue owners with suitable facilities to come forward and assist in hosting the matches as the association seeks to deliver a successful and well co-ordinated tournament.

The Round of 32 is expected to draw large crowds from different communities, further underlining the growing popularity of pool in the province.
