THE 10th edition of the Castle Lager National Braai Festival is about more than just meat, music and merrymaking — it’s about making a meaningful difference.

As the countdown to the main event on October 18 at Glamis Arena in Harare continues, organisers have transformed this year’s milestone into a celebration driven by charity.

For every sizzling braai event leading up to the big day, Castle Lager is leaving behind something far more valuable than memories; ten state-of-the-art hospital beds for a local hospital in each host city.
That’s 100 beds by the time the final steak hits the grill.

“In a heartfelt gesture of giving back to the community, Castle Lager will donate ten state-of-the-art hospital beds to a local hospital in each city hosting a micro braai event at the end of the campaign.

“This initiative underscores Castle Lager’s commitment to supporting the communities that have embraced the brand over the past 130 years,” Delta Beverages said in a statement.

The donations are linked to a series of ten Micro Castle Lager Braai events across ten cities, which began with stops in Mashonaland Central, Gweru and Masvingo. The roadshow now heads to Chitungwiza on September 13 at Monkey Shoulders, then Chipiwa Gardens in Marondera on September 14 and Kadoma’s Speedway Bar on September 20.

Other stops include Jongwe Corner in Chinhoyi (September 21), Jongwe Corner in Harare (September 27), Hartsfield in Bulawayo (October 4), and Mutare’s Madziro Bar on October 11.

Each event blends the brand’s signature braai experience with live performances from top local artistes and DJs, but this year, the music takes a back seat to the spirit of giving.

“We wanted this celebration to be about more than just great food and beer. It’s about community, health and hope,” the statement added.

As the festival prepares to mark its 10th anniversary, Castle Lager is demonstrating that the true spirit of the braai lies not only in sharing a meal, but also in sharing goodwill.
