FLAMBOYANT clergyman, Ambassador Edd Branson, led a team from his Edd Branson Foundation facilitating free medical check-ups for Epworth residents.
Amb Branson and his team also handed out 1 000 food hampers to child-headed households in Epworth as part of his efforts to help push back the frontiers of poverty, in line with the Second Republic’s refrain of “Leaving no one and no place behind”.
One of the beneficiaries, Agnes Maruma, from Overspill in Epworth hailed Amb Branson’s gesture.
“The medical tests and check-ups were a blessing to the community as most people of Epworth cannot afford medical aid.
“We welcome this gesture and thank Prophet Branson for coming to assist our community,” said Maruma.
Mbuya Chikonamombe from Stopover in Epworth said: “Edd Branson is a preacher who practices what he preaches and this act of love is truly based on the word of God.”
Another beneficiary said: “I thank him for his kindness and for remembering the people of Epworth. We didn’t expect this at the beginning of the year.”
