BRANSON’S BOOK SAYS MONEY IS NOT THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL

ZIMBABWEAN preacher and philanthropist, Edd Branson, has launched a book, titled ‘Secure The Bag God’s Way,’ which questions the narrative that money is the root of all evil.

The book also denounces people who make money through unorthodox ways.

The book, which has 17 chapters, dwells on inspiring people to secure money in a legitimate and God-fearing manner.

“Have you ever wondered what it truly means to ‘secure the bag? It’s not just a trendy phrase, it signifies achieving financial success through your hard work and determination,” he writes in the book. Whether it’s closing a lucrative deal, building wealth steadily or achieving stability, securing the bag is about realising your financial ambitions in a meaningful way.

“Before you dismiss this as another ‘get rich quick’ book, let me assure you, this book is different. It’s not about flashy lifestyles or quick fixes but it’s about practical, God-centred strategies to secure your financial future.

“God’s way is to remember he told us, ‘I am the way.’”

In one of the chapters ‘Money Answereth All Things’, Branson says:

“The Bible boldly declares that money answers all things, not prayer but money, cash, moolah, the bag, or whatever term you call in the hood.

“Let’s clarify, this verse is not promoting money as the ultimate goal of the key to happiness. Rather, it acknowledges that money provides a practical means to address various needs and challenges in life.”

The book crushes the perception that money is the root of all evil.

“Contrary to popular misquotes, the bible doesn’t say money is the root of all evil.

“That’s a misinterpretation of 1 Timothy 6:10. It actually states that the love of money is the root of all evil.

“Money itself is not inherently evil, it’s the obsession and misuse of it that can lead to trouble. Moreover, the bible doesn’t claim, that money can’t buy happiness, either.

“Let’s be honest, it can certainly make life a lot more comfortable and less stressful.”

The book is Edd Branson Publishers’ maiden publication.

It boasts of an advisory board that has Muvhango actress Millicent Makhado, who is popularly known as Agnes Mukwevho, on the South African soap.

The board includes prominent names like Former Deputy Minister Dr Energy Mutodi and Azola Mlota, popularly known as Dr Love, on X.

Some of the chapters include Follow Purpose Not Passion, The Marketplace Mandate, Deal Structuring God’s Way, Money Management, Empire Building Business Plan, Faith at Work, Simon Peter The Fishless Entrepreneur, From Mediocre-Miraculous, Turning Water-Wine, A Recipe To Turn Water Into Wine, Stewardship, The Power Of Giving A Secret Mastered By Jews.
