IN a move set to transform the lives of locals, Bravura Zimbabwe, the lithium mining company operating in Kamativi, Matabeleland North, has committed to prioritising employment for community members as it advances its mining project. The company is also encouraging families to educate their children in mining-related careers to secure future opportunities within the industry.
This announcement comes on the heels of Bravura’s handover of six modern houses to families relocated to pave the way for the mining project. The initiative aligns with the Government’s policy of ensuring that corporate projects uplift communities rather than leaving them disadvantaged.
Bravura’s commitment includes creating job opportunities for locals during the construction and operational phases of the project. The company has urged parents to guide their children towards careers in geology, engineering, environmental science, and other mining-related disciplines to ensure they are well-positioned for employment within the industry.
The event was also attended by Presidential Affairs and Devolution Permanent Secretary Engineer Tafadzwa Muguti.
As Bravura Zimbabwe moves forward with its mining project, the company’s focus on education and employment is expected to create a ripple effect, fostering economic growth and skills development in the Kamativi community. This holistic approach underscores the potential of mining to be a catalyst for positive change when aligned with community needs and national development goals.
