What started off as a big farewell gig turned ugly when the woman only identified as Gillian, a Harare socialite, hugged Sifelani in full view of other revellers and that did not go down well with her boyfriend.
Minutes later, he went straight to Gillian accusing her of being “too friendly” and punched her in the head, flooring her in the process.
Gillian, who was at the time wearing eight-inch stilettos lost her balance resulting in her wig falling off. In retaliation, she removed her heels and picked up a beer bottle but missed her target and it hit
Power FM presenter and disc jockey Katsande aka “TK” on the forehead as he tried to stop the brawl.
“How could she do this to me, look guys I am hurt. The lady threw a bottle of beer and it hit me,” TK shouted.
The man was quickly whisked away by bouncers but he apologised for causing the fracas.
“I don’t think it’s all my fault. I know this chick from way back and she isn’t my girlfriend. I wanted to tell the guy to relax but he wouldn’t listen,” Sifelani said.
The gig momentarily stopped after a fuse for the PA system blew up and Dean Rusere aka DJ Dean, who hosts Friday’s “Soul on Soul” parties at Utano went all out to ensure that the party continued.
The Soul Supreme, who is in Harare for his annual holiday, hosted two farewell gigs over the weekend – one at Utano and another at the Plaza de Castilla – both of which were sold out.
