Brazil great to coach in India

BRAZILIAN great Zico has agreed to manage FC Goa in the first ever Indian Super League (ISL) season.
The 61-year-old won 71 Brazil caps, played in the 1978, 1982 and 1986 World Cups and has coached in Brazil, Japan, Turkey, Russia, Greece, Iraq and Qatar.

“Zico signed the contract in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,” said a statement from the ISL franchise. “Representatives will travel to Brazil shortly to help Zico complete visa formalities and bring him to Goa.”

The ISL hopes to improve the popularity of football in India, with the inaugural 10-week tournament beginning in October. — BBC
