Break the barrier

Youth Focus with Dr Manners Msongelwa

BREAKING down the barriers means removing anything standing in your way of getting the job done, achieving your dreams, or any emotional entanglements that prevent you from making progress. Be the first to break down these barriers in your family.

It’s possible
Flying to another country. Be the first to book a flight. Break the barrier. No one in the family has been to an airport, you will be the first. Take a photo at the airport where it’s written arrivals and departure. Be proud of this new experience.

Passing O or A-Level with flying colours
Be the first to pass with straight As. Break this barrier. If in the family no one has passed O-Level, be the first. If no one ever proceeded to A-Level after finishing O-Level, be the first, break the barrier. Break the barrier and be the first to go to the university or college. Attain a degree or a diploma. Set a new record. It’s possible. Remain focused. If God permits, do a master’s degree and a doctorate. Family history will remember you.

Be the first to drive in the family
Break the barriers. Work hard, remain determined, certainly, you will drive. Success will follow you. You might be walking five kilometres to school, but tell yourself that, “one-day l will drive.”

Be the first to give your life to God
In the family, prayer is secondary, but be the first to give your heart to God. Worship him in truth and in Spirit, one day you will testify. Shine and follow his teaching, history will remember you.

Be the first to be disciplined
Say no to sex before marriage, no to alcohol and smoking while at school. No to early marriage. Be principled and focus on your school work. Greatness will follow you. You will be the first to have a wedding in the family, you will be the first who will set a good example. It’s possible, it starts now.

If no one has appeared on any TV station, radio, or newspaper, you will be the first one. Break the chains of the family. Be the first one. Hunger for success, work for it and you will achieve it.

NB* You can change the face of your family. It’s possible. BELIEVE!
