HIGHLANDERS players on Wednesday night boycotted camp ahead of their Castle Lager Premiership match against Agama at Barbourfields on Thursday.

Players are not happy with that they are owed two winning bonuses and as many for draws.

Highlanders is also a month in arrears in terms of salaries.

The incident left the technical team with no option but to return to their homes.

This has thrown the match into doubt.

According to a club source, the manager and technical team members were left furious.

It is believed there are outside forces influencing players ahead of the club’s half year meeting and next year’s watershed elections.

“This is not a unique situation, players know Highlanders are a big institution and always eventually pays what it owes,” said a source.

Efforts to get a comment from the club were fruitless.
