BREAKING: Brigadier-General Ngarava declared national hero

BRIGADIER-GENERAL (Retired) Mathias Tizirai Ngarava has been declared a national hero.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere announced the conferment of national hero status by President Mnangagwa this morning at the Ngarava home in Chinhoyi’s Mapako Phase 2 suburb.

Minister Muswere said Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo, working with an inter-ministerial team led by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, will now take over proceedings in consultation with the family.

The family, Dr Muswere said, would have to decide on when the late national hero would be buried.

Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi and Minister Chombo accompanied Dr Muswere.
