ONCE again, the rot in the Highlanders secretariat based at Number 50 Robert Mugabe Way has been exposed following the disappearance of the chargesheet for the hearing of Sihlalisiwe Mnkandla, the club’s finance officer.
She was suspended in November 2023 on allegations of fraud and insubordination.
The courts ordered her reinstatement last year after the club failed to haul her before a disciplinary committee.
Club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe on Wednesday confirmed that the papers had gone missing from the office for the second time.
He expressed his disappointment and said in pursuit of good corporate governance the hearing will still go on.
“I am disappointed that for the second time the papers have gone missing disrupting attempts by the club to deal with the issue. Something is wrong somewhere and it has to be attended about our office,” said Mhlophe.
The Highlanders chairman said a disciplinary committee is now in place and as soon as the chargesheet is ready, there will be a hearing.
The first set is said to have been lost during the tenure of the late Sihlangu Dlodlo as chief executive officer and the second this year during Brian Moyo’s time as the club sought to have the issue resolved.
Several club finance documents are believed to be missing.
Mnkandla returned to work at the beginning of February this year.
