AS the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards ceremony draws closer, organizers have revealed that tickets to the much talked about event will by Friday noon going for double the selling price.

One of the organizers, Nkululeko Nkala revealed that already they had sold more than half the tickets hence the decision to increase the prices.

“By Thursday morning we had sold more than half the capacity of the Large City Hall which is over 600, the capacity being 1 100. With the way tickets are selling we have reached a decision to double the price by 12 pm on Friday.

“What we are saying is that we gave people ample time to buy tickets using the current pricing system, which is $25 for the VVIP, $15 for the VIP and $10 for the ordinary tickets, now it is unfortunate that they will have to fork out more if they want to come and be part of the ceremony,” said Nkala.

With these developments, it means the ordinary ticket will now cost $20, VIP; $30 and VVIP; $50.

Nkala encouraged the public to buy their tickets at the various official selling points and avoid the unnecessary congestion associated with purchasing tickets at the venue.

“It is usually advantageous for people to purchase tickets at the selling points before the actual event hence we are calling on the public to do so and avoid the congestion,” said Nkala.

He said they were excited by the buzz the awards were creating in the city saying they were confident that they would have a sold out show.

Tickets to the prestigious arts awards event are being sold at Boom City along 8th Avenue between George Silundika and Robert Mugabe Way and Entertainment Headquarters between Leopold Takawira and 6th Avenue along George Silundika.
