AWARD-WINNING all-female group, Breeze Music, has released a song, which was written 60 years ago by the father of Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume.

The song is called Makambonzwa Here‘.

One of the group’s directors, Nyaradzo ‘Advovo’ Maphosa, told H-Metro:

This song was written about 60 years ago by Isaac Mafume Snr, the Mayor’s biological father.

“It is very popular in SDA circles and at camp meetings.

“We featured him in the video as he gave us the rights to record, publish, and perform the song.

“It talks about the beauty of heaven, where we are all aspiring to go to.”

The Breeze consists of Melody Mandisodza Muvuti, Bekezela Moyo, Orpha Hwengwere, Nyaradzo Gilbertina Maphosa, and Amanda Zahile.

The group topped the local charts with the song ‘Masasai.’

Now, they are back with ‘Vane Nhema’e,’ which tackles the issue of people who are lured into fake relationships.

“This song was written to expose lies within society that too many people fall prey to.

“They lose a lot of money and peace of mind and get into or stay in abusive relationships because they listen to lies from society and various religious sects.

“People must read the bible and they will never get lost.

“The song was produced by Dr Tawanda Benson.

“We also posthumously featured Gogo Shuvai Muroiwa.

“This is dedicated to the memory of Gogo Muroiwa. “She raised me from 19 months to six years of age and I wrote the song,” she said.
