Dawson believes his players have a good chance of a positive result.
“I am confident that the squad will play well and everyone is excited,” said Dawson.
“They have been training hard twice a day and they are going to give it a try.
“We have good players, both foreign-based and the locals, and they include scrumhalf Charles Jiji, Denford Mutangandura, Linience Tambwere flyhalf, Daniel Hondo inside centre and Cleopas Makotose, fullback.
“The squad is working hard together as this is going to provide a huge boost in preparations for the Africa Cup.
“The rucking areas are crucial but I am glad that they have done well, they have polished up and that a good thing for us.”
Zimbabwe is expected to take on the South African side from 7pm. The Zimbabweans are preparing for the Africa Cup.
Mutangadura, who plays for AYR Rugby Football Club in Scotland, expects a tough duel.
“I am looking forward to the match, It is going to be a tough one but we are up for it.
“We are going to motivate each other because we believe we have players who can get some tries,” said Mutangadura.
The Zimbabwe team is expected to have a media conference at Harare Sports Club at 4pm today.
