A DEAL gone wrong has exposed a Nketa High School teacher who solicited for a $100 bribe in exchange for securing a Form Two place, but failed to deliver and pay back the money.
The teacher, Doreen Ndlovu, is in murky waters over failure to give back Noel Masanhu his money which she had demanded in exchange for getting his son a place at the school.
The deal was sealed two years ago and Masanhu was left with no choice except to seek a peace order against the teacher as she was verbally abusing him.
Masanhu stated that he no longer had peace in his life because of the woman who verbally abuses him whenever he demands his money.
a?I am applying for a peace order against Doreen Ndlovu as she uses every abusive word on earth each time I contact her demanding my money.
a?She should stop threatening me and sending abusive texts,a? said Masanhu.
He revealed that he gave Ndlovu $100 in January 2015 after she promised to secure a Form Two place for his son.
Ndlovu failed to deliver and thereafter Masanhu demanded back his money, but she started telling him stories and eventually blocked his number on the phone.
He managed to locate her in May 2016 and the woman only paid him $40 before becoming abusive.
a?She became extremely abusive and whenever I demanded my money she shouted at me asking whether I did not understand the economic situation and that she is a single mother of three,a? he said.
When Ndlovu was given the opportunity to respond to the allegations, she confirmed taking the money saying she was going to pay it back.
The presiding magistrate Tancy Dube granted the peace order in favour of the applicant.
