VULNERABLE families have commended Bridge Zimbabwe for complementing Government’s efforts to boost food security.
A total of 328 families have benefited from the food relief programme.
Bridge Zimbabwe is a private voluntary organisation operating in the country and is a branch of Bridge International.
Some beneficiaries told H-Metro they were grateful for the monthly food programme, as it enables them to feed their families.
Tracy Nathan said the food aid has brought smiles to her family.
“The food programme has helped me to sustain my family.
“I want to thank Bridge Zimbabwe for remembering the vulnerable,” said Nathan.
She urged the organisation to continue with its wonderful humanitarian work.
Another beneficiary, Grace Banda, heaped praises on the organisation.
“They are complementing the Government’s efforts in food security,” said Banda.
Bridge Zimbabwe coordinator, Stanley Mudzingwa, told H-Metro they will continue to assist the poor.
“It is everyone’s duty to look after the less privileged in our communities. Bridge Zimbabwe is only complementing what the wider society and Government are already doing.
“We started this programme last October and I am grateful that we’ve been able to give out these food hampers to beneficiaries every month.
“The need is greater out there, but we can only do what we can,” said Mudzingwa.
Bridge Zimbabwe is based in Chinhoyi. The organisation is currently partnering with the Presbyterian Clinic in the expansion and equipping of the new clinic building.
It has also sourced and donated a dormitory and food to Good Shepherd Children’s Home.
