In an interview on the sidelines of the commissioning of GMB’s new system Very Small Aperture Terminal yesterday, Cde Dinha said the whole of Bindura was geared up for the historical event.
He said everything was in order but urged those who had pledged to follow their word with action.
“The report is that there is still some insufficiency of funds, hence we are calling on all those pledges to come in time. We are very excited to be hosting His Excellency for his birthday celebrations, and that includes everyone from miners, teachers, youths , young boys and girls,” he said.
Adv Dinha called on critical and strategic organisations like the Grain Marketing Board to make their contributions to the worthy cause in time.
“We have lined up a series of events that includes the Musana Gora Business Centre BOB 89 Celebrations being held today (yesterday) and a clean-up campaign on Friday where everyone in Bindura is being asked to be off work for an hour cleaning the town,” he said.
Adv Dinha said the clean-up was meant to recognise the political correctness of the President, celebrate his transparency and commemorate his efforts towards the protection and conservation of the environment.
