DOUGLAS Mloyi, a Highlanders Football Club legend, has since left his position as a Bosso board member, barely a month after his appointment.
Fondly known as British, the legendary Mloyi was recently appointed Bosso’s board member at the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) at the end of January.
In an interview with B-Metro Sport, Mloyi confirmed the development.
“Yes, indeed, I am no longer a Highlanders board member,” said the yesteryear great.
“On Saturday, I had a harsh exchange of words with a Bosso board member whom I cannot name. To be honest with you the fault was on my side.
“I just had a short stint as the club’s board member so there is nothing I can say about my stay in that position,” said Mloyi.
Mloyi’s appointment was part of the club’s ongoing commitment to leadership change and regular rotation of office bearers, ensuring that fresh perspectives continue to shape the future of the team.
Mloyi had joined Nkululeko Fuzwayo, who runs a law firm in Francistown, Botswana on the board.
Since Justice Mathonsi stepped down two years ago, there had not been a person with a legal background on the board.
Former executive member, Horrace Ndubiwa was also appointed to the board.
As per Article 13.3 of the Highlanders constitution, the two leadership arms of the club, the board and executive, identified individuals who were presented to members for confirmation at the club’s annual meeting.
