Brother assaulted over simcard

FOR blocking his brother’s Telecel simcard, a Dangamvura man was heavily assaulted and sustained serious injuries.

Prince Mazike (25) was recently hauled before the courts on allegations of assaulting his brother, Denver Mazike (21). He accused his brother of blocking his cellphone line when he had told him to sell the handset.

Prince pleaded guilty to the charges. Public prosecutor, Mr Brian Goto, told the court that on December 20 at around 8am, the accused person assaulted the complainant at their place of residence in Dangamvura.

The accused assaulted the complainant with fists several times on the face and he was only rescued by his grandmother. He also sustained bruises on his right arm and leg.

Prince told the court that he acted out of anger. Mutare magistrate, Mr Poterai Gwezhira fined Prince $50 and failure to pay the fine would result in Prince serving 30 days imprisonment.
