A FIGHT over a family house spilled into the Harare Civil Court where a sister sought a protection order against her brother.

Nicole Siyachitema hauled her brother, Keith Chikanga, to court accusing him of verbal abuse.

“Whenever I go to collect rentals, he gangs up with his wife to insult me, so l no longer feel safe going there.

“I want the court to order him not to verbally abuse me.

“He refuses to give me my marriage and school certificates because he is jealous that I might find a better job than his,” Nicole said.

Chikanga opposed the protection order saying he hadn’t seen his sister in three years.

“She gave the court false information. She has a bad habit of lying.

“I actually helped her when she had a dispute with her husband.

“I was shocked when the police told me that there were summons for me.

“All along, I thought we were going to reconcile as siblings,” said Keith.

Presiding magistrate Nyasha Marufu granted the protection order.
