A 33-year-old Mt Pleasant Heights woman lost her wedding ring and cash to a robber who broke into her house on Tuesday night.

Mitchell Musindo was forced to surrender cash, an iPhone, wedding ring, necklace and power bank to a man who broke into her house at midnight.

Mitchel told H-Metro: “I was asleep in my bedroom when I suddenly saw a man holding a knife and an axe,” said Mitchell.

“He forced open our kitchen door and gained entry into the house and came into my bedroom.

“He demanded cash from me and I had to surrender all valuables I had in the bedroom, which included my wedding ring.

“My wedding was in 2010 and the ring no longer fitted on my finger so I kept it on the headboard.

“I lodged a police report at Marlborough Police Station.”

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case and appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of the robber.

“Police are investigating a case where an unidentified robber gained entry into a Mt Pleasant Heights house and forced the occupant to surrender cash on Tuesday night,” said Insp Chakanza.
