Brothers fight over house

TWO brothers are at each other’s throats, in a bitter fight over a house left behind by their deceased father.

Thuli Kazembe approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against his brother, Onward Simba.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the protection order.

Thuli told the court that his brother, Simba, forged papers and made himself executor of their father’s deceased estate.

The two share the same father, but have different mothers. Thuli said his brother has been subjecting him to physical abuse together with his wife.

“He is my half-brother and he has been assaulting me together with my wife. He destroyed my wife’s phone which had evidence. I asked him for the house documents to see if he was paying utility bills. I was surprised when I noticed that he had made himself the executor,” said Thuli.

In his response, Simba sang a different tune.

He claimed that his father did not tell him about Thuli’s existence.

“Our father never introduced Kazembe to me. I even had the heart to give him two rooms, but he doesn’t pay any bills, and that is my problem with him,” Simba said.
