Brothers sentenced to life in prison for robbery, murder

TWO Harare brothers have been sentenced to life in prison after they shot and killed their victim during a robbery in August 2020.

The brothers William Boka aged 39 and Kudakwashe Boka aged 32 shot and killed their victim who had returned home unaware that there was a robbery underway.

In a statement, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) spokesperson Detective Inspector Rachel Muteweri said: “In a landmark ruling, William Boka aged 39 and Kudakwashe Boka aged 32 were recently convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment following a murder case they committed on August 18, 2020.

“Circumstances are that, on August 18 2020, the victim returned home unknowingly walking into a robbery in progress.

“The accused persons opened fire, which resulted in the victim being killed instantly. They appeared at the High Court of Zimbabwe, where they were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.”
