JUST days after being praised for celebrating his birthday by donating food hampers worth thousands of dollars to the Harare Children’s Home, businessman Bryton Ushendibaba is grieving.
He has lost his brother John who died yesterday.
Last weekend, Ushendibaba, who runs Pan Jap Motors, chose to celebrate with needy kids at the children’s home rather than hold an extravagant birthday party.
“I used to hold parties with my peers as a way of celebrating my birthday over the years, but I have always loved sharing with needy members of society and Harare Children’s Home came to mind. I have come here with these donations that I hope will make a difference,” he said.
“In life, we can change other people’s lives with the little that we share with them. We should always remember the poor all the time as we celebrate our milestones like birthdays.
“We should be known for sharing with others and not known for being extravagant.”
He was accompanied by Chifa Chitsa from his home village in Gutu.
Yesterday, tragedy struck after Ushendibaba lost his brother.
“Mahwindo Foundation would like to pass its condolence message to the Ushendibaba family for the loss of their son and brother John Ushendibaba,” said the Mahwindo Foundation in a statement.
“We are with you in our prayers and in every step you take during this difficult time.”
John will be buried in Gutu this weekend.
