BUDGET Health Medical Aid Society has said it is on a mission to cultivate a culture of knowledge on health issues where everyone appreciates the importance of being covered by medical aid.
This came after it scooped the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility award in the medical aid societies category at the recently-held Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe (AHFoZ) Annual Stakeholders meeting in Victoria Falls.
In an interview, the firm’s sales manager, Ngoni Mupedziswa, said the award will go a long way in developing their brand.
“We are delighted to have received this prestigious award. This award just came as a reminder for us to continue to leave no community behind in providing health cover and also in our support of giving back to the same communities,” he said.
Mupedziswa said they want locals to understand and appreciate the importance of having medical aid.
“Our major role is to educate the nation and impart knowledge of the importance of medical cover and that ertainly does not come easy.
“People should prioritise their health, regardless of their income,” he said.
Mupedziswa added:
“Some regard the term ‘budget’ with low-value items, to us we are simply communicating that everyone should put their health on their budget regardless of their income.
“We have packages to suit any budget and our health is our investment so let’s all budget.
“Our network covers all corners of the country so once you sign up, you can start enjoying services from wherever you are in Zimbabwe.
“The major challenge has been the uptake and understanding of the importance of medical aid.
“Isn’t it interesting that the majority of us prepare for death by putting ourselves on the funeral cover but we neglect to try and keep ourselves alive for as long as possible by accessing reliable health services through medical aids?”
