DANCEHALL star Buffalo Souljah has promised to give away R100k if he reaches one million followers on one of his social media platforms.
The South Africa-based dancehall artist posted on social media that he wanted to spoil his fans with R100k, if he reaches the milestone.
Currently, his Facebook page has 118k followers and the IG has over 270K.
He is also promoting a single titled, ‘‘Even Badman Fall in Love,’’ which he is set to release on his birthday on September 16.
Below is the post by Buffalo Souljah: “Feeling generous, my birthday around the corner 16 Sept, also dropping new music.
“I’m giving away 100k if I reach 1 million followers.”
Speaking to H-Metro, the musician said his main target for one million followers was IG, and he would spread the R100k to the lucky fans.
“IG is the best target but if Facebook reaches a million followers, too, I will give it away.
“I will share it among the lucky fans, no competition will be held,” he said.
Big Buff said the motivation to give away R100K was driven by the need to match other international artists.
“We have to work hard and our profile packaging, as Zimbabwean artists, should improve.
“If we want to match the international level, our image, and everything, matters when it comes to penetrating the global stage,” he told H-Metro.
The dancehall star has, however, refused to divulge the age he will turn on September 16.
He believes divulging age can be an impediment to art expression and how it is perceived.
“Age should never be mentioned. The mindset of people could limit the rating of an artist. Artists are forever young,” said Buffalo Souljah.
He has scooped several international awards.
