“I beat them 2-1 in Mutare and I am going to repeat the same feat come Sunday afternoon. It’s fortunate they will be playing at home so they might just score a goal. They fired me just after two games and I want to prove to them that I am not a bad coach,” said Chaminuka.
Chaminuka had an unforgettable season with the Chinda Boys in 2011 over a divided executive which had some favouring John Phiri for the hot seat with others behind him.
His first match was against Highlanders at Barbourfields which he lost before losing a home tie to Chicken Inn and all hell broke loose as there was violence at Maglas and had it not been for the alert riot police, lives could have been lost. Chaminuka was forced to pack his bags and that year he concentrated on farming in Chivhu where he is a beneficiary of the land reform programme.
He was later recalled to Masvingo where he worked with Masomere only to be given the boot once again as the team which was now facing the jaws of relegation opted for Ralph Kawondera
Chaminuka is a former Black Mambas player who made his name alongside the likes of Collins Kabote.
A long-serving player for Buffaloes, Dananai Chinowawa who got promoted for guiding the army team into the league, is expecting to get positive results tomorrow.
“We need a top five finish and that can only be achieved by beating Shabanie. We have the same number of points and we can only eliminate them by a victory at their home ground,” said Chinowawa who was bubbling with confidence.
Shabanie recently lost 1-4 to Dynamos after being held to a disappointing draw at home by Black Mambas.
Pervington Zimunya who played a blinder was on target on the day and is expected to lead from the front as he has all of a sudden become the hitman for the Chinda Boys.
Nelson Maziwisa has been firing blanks and tomorrow’s game is one match he is expected to gather his courage and start scoring if he dreams of lifting the golden boot.
Goalkeeper Victor Twaliki who conceded a silly goal against Dynamos and defender Smart Muchabaya who also scored an own goal said they have worked on their shortcomings and a ready to down the buffalo.
Masomere has only lost twice to Highlanders and Motor Action at home.
