BUFFALOES let maximum points slip through their fingers when they surrendered a first half lead to draw with Triangle in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Vengere yesterday.

Buffaloes went into the match looking for a morale booster, having suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of defending champions Dynamos.

However, the home side lacked hunger.

Triangle were equally pathetic, failing to replicate the form that saw them massacre Hwange 5-0 last weekend.

Buffaloes opened the scoring in the 34th minute after a goal melee and Lloyd Katongomara struck home with Triangle making amends in the second half through substitute Hillary Bakacheza’s effort.

Buffaloes coach Joseph Takaringofa had reservations about the overall performance of his side but believes they will build on from the draw.

“Today it was better, but I think we can improve,” said Takaringofa.

Triangle mentor Kelvin Kaindu said his boys could have scored more.

“If you look at the number of good goals that we scored against Hwange, you would probably expect the boys to have scored more goals today, but we started a bit casually in the first half,” he said.

Teams:

Buffaloes: Tandazai Chengetai, Chakoroma Liberty (Cap), Nyauzima Simbarashe, Chandisaita Philip, Jambo Joseph, Matizanadzo Prosper, Mwenga Roy, Makaha Vincent, Katongomara Lloyd, Jeffrey Takunda, Nkata Sherpard

Triangle: Mudimu Ronald, Rukwani Charles, Meson Nelson, Dzingai Jimmy, Tigere Jimmy, Chipunza Tichaona, Juwawei Brian, Manhanga Pasca, Kawondera Richard, Mavundi Hardlife, Nhamo Lameck
