THE Bulawayo Basketball League (BBA) has begun preparations for the 2026/27 season, with clubs already submitting applications to participate in the various divisions ahead of the new campaign.
BBA president Sinda Mono said the early start to preparations is aimed at ensuring a smooth transition into the new season, which is scheduled to tip off in the traditional second week of September.
Mono revealed that the league will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in mid-August, where clubs will discuss key administrative matters and finalise arrangements before the season gets underway.
“We have already started preparations for the 2026/27 season. Clubs that want to be part of our various leagues have begun submitting their applications and we are happy with the response so far,” said Mono.
“Our AGM will be held in mid-August and that meeting will help us conclude all the outstanding issues before the start of the season. As has become our tradition, we are targeting the second week of September for the opening of the new campaign.”
Mono said the league was looking forward to another competitive season, with both returning and aspiring clubs expected to strengthen competition across the different divisions.
