Bulawayo Chiefs seek to bounce back

BULAWAYO Chiefs will play host to Zimbabwe Saints in a Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League match at Dingumuzi Stadium in Plumtree tomorrow.
The log leaders suffered their sixth defeat of the season and had their lead reduced to just two points after losing 4-0 to Black Boots.

It was former national team coach Rahman Gumbo’s fifth defeat of the season in charge of the title aspirants.
Gumbo has been demoted to the developmental side with Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda expected to return to guide them to the Premiership.

Assistant coach Nkosiyazi Ncube said the camp is in high spirits and hoping to bounce back from a shock defeat they suffered against their closest rival Black Boots.

“The boys have responded well and have been training hard, we are hoping to collect maximum points in our next assignment,” said Ncube.

Ncube still maintains they can make it to the Premiership, as they are targeting to win all their remaining fixtures.
“We are targeting to win all our next five games, I think we can achieve that, the title is still ours to lose,” he said.

Zimbabwe Saints are hoping for a change of fortunes as they are coming from their ninth defeat of the season.

They lost 0-4 to Tsholotsho FC at home and they face a tricky trip to the border town of Plumtree.

Bantu Rovers entertain Quelaton at Unit Fairbridge seeking to stay in championship contention.
Championship contenders Black Boots face upset specialists Rufaro Rovers in Hwange.
