THE Zimbabwe national Under-20 men’s soccer team’s trip to Angola for a Four Nations Invitational Tournament has been cancelled, Zifa have confirmed.
The hastily arranged trip was initially set for last weekend but was postponed by a week meaning that the Young Warriors should have left during the week for Angola to participate at the competition which starts tomorrow.

“We are no longer going to Angola,” said Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela.

Twenty-five youngsters have been in camp from Wednesday with their coach Jairos Tapera taking them through their paces as they prepared for the tournament.

The Young Warriors were also going to use the Angolan invitational tournament as part of their preparations for the December Cosafa Under-20 Championships in Lesotho.

Zifa had indicated to their Angolan counterparts that they had no resources to fly the team for the tournament but they were assured of full funding by the organisers in Angola.
