THE Bulawayo Corporates Social Soccer League enters its third week on Saturday with a full programme of matches lined up.
Teams from the city’s corporate sector will once again take to the field as the league continues to gather momentum, with competitive fixtures expected to entertain social football followers.
Among the standout clashes, Chibuku will face Evergold at Cement Primary School, while Coca-Cola lock horns with Grills at Iminyela Grounds. Hope are set to take on Zesa at Raylton, as Lonestar battle Zimtile at Criterion.
Rydings will square off against Warehouse at Greenspan, with Millenium meeting Valuegas at Mzilikazi Primary. Nust will also be in action against Speedstars at Gwabalanda.
In other fixtures, Simbisa will take on Overnight at Gifford Ground 1, while Proton clash with Ostrich at Mandwandwe.
All matches are expected to draw keen interest as teams look to climb the log and assert early dominance in the competition.
In matches played last weekend, Zimtile delivered a dominant performance as they hammered Coca-Cola 8-0 in one of the most emphatic wins of the season so far.
The one-sided encounter saw Zimtile assert their authority early, overwhelming Coca-Cola with clinical finishing and fluid attacking play.
Warehouse Distributors also impressed, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory over Grills FC, while Simbisa won 3-1 against Rydings Automobile.
Value Gas FC edged a thrilling contest, beating Hope 3-2 in one of the most closely fought matches of the round. Chibuku FC and NUST Academic Stars both registered convincing 3-0 wins over Overnight Express and Ostrich respectively. Millenium and Lonestar shared the spoils in a draw, as did Proton and Speedstars FC. ZETDC and Evergold FC also settled for a 1-1 stalemate.
Bulawayo Corporates Social Soccer League chairperson Timothy Mandizadza praised the competitiveness shown across the fixtures.
“Teams are showing great improvement and commitment, which is exactly what we want to see at this stage of the league,” said Mandizadza.
He also expressed appreciation for the continued support behind the league.
“We are grateful to our sponsors and supporters for making this platform possible. Their backing is crucial in ensuring the growth and sustainability of the league, and we look forward to even more exciting matches as the season progresses,” he added.
