A couple from Bulawayo’s West Somerton suburb, believed to be part of a drug-dealing syndicate, is set to appear in court today following their dramatic arrest over the weekend.
Police, during a raid at the couple’s residence, discovered a substantial cache of various narcotics in their possession.
The suspects, Darian-Lee Kevin Lloyd Jackson (31) and Lakin Lee Robinson (32), were apprehended on 13 July 2025 by detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics in the city centre.
Police said the drugs were recovered from the suspects’ vehicle and their residence in West Somerton suburb.
“Police recovered sachets of cocaine and various types of cannabis, including Cheese, Dosidos, Gush Mint, Sunset Sherbet, Oreo, Hot Cake, Blue Cheese, Gary Payton, and Grape Gas, as well as loose dagga,” said national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement.
He said the drugs, police said, were found in the couple’s family vehicle, with more recovered during a follow-up search at their home.
