Five die after inhaling fumes from fire brazier

TRAGEDY struck a family in Mabasa Village under Chief Masunda in Zvishavane District after five people allegedly died from inhaling carbon dioxide emitted by a burning fire brazier (imbawula) in the room where they were sleeping to keep warm.

Zvishavane District Development Coordinator (DDC) Mr.Darlington Chokera confirmed the incident.
“We understand five people died at a homestead on Mabasa area. The police have gone to attend the scene and we will get more details then,” he said.

The five bodies of the deceased have been ferried to Zvishavane District Hospital for postmoterm.
